ISLAMABAD: Transparency International Pakistan’s (TIPak)latest survey suggests that the national economy is gaining strength while public perceptions of corruption are steadily declining.

According to TIPak, the country has made noticeable progress in promoting transparency and strengthening accountability mechanisms. The organization noted that the government’s emphasis on rule-based decision-making, fiscal discipline, and open governance has contributed to these positive shifts.

The annual National Corruption Perception Survey (NCPS) 2025 shows that a majority of citizens—66 percent—reported not having to pay bribes for government-related work, a significant change from previous years.

The report highlights several factors behind the improved outlook. Pakistan’s economic recovery gained momentum after the government secured an agreement with the IMF, which helped stabilize key financial indicators. Additionally, Pakistan’s removal from the FATF grey list played a role in restoring market confidence and fostering economic stability.

The survey also found growing public satisfaction with the performance of the police, pointing to improved service delivery and behaviour. Positive shifts were recorded in the education sector, land and property dealings, and taxation services as well.

TIPak concluded that the country is gradually transitioning from stagnation toward stability and growth, with transparency indicators showing encouraging progress.

The NCPS reflects how ordinary citizens perceive corruption across public institutions and remains one of TI Pakistan’s key tools for tracking governance trends in the country.
