LONDON: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during his visit to London, reaffirmed Pakistan’s request for the extradition of individuals sought by Islamabad, holding detailed discussions with senior officials at the British Home Office.

According to officials, Pakistan submitted a comprehensive dossier outlining the charges and evidence against the individuals whose return it is seeking. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, was also present at the meetings.

The visit followed an earlier engagement between Naqvi and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott in Islamabad, where the two sides discussed overall Pak-UK relations, cooperation in security matters, and the repatriation of Pakistanis living illegally in the United Kingdom.

A key focus of the talks was Pakistan’s push for the immediate extradition of Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja.

Both governments also explored ways to deepen collaboration across legal frameworks, counter misinformation, and strengthen bilateral ties.

Naqvi told the British envoy that Pakistan had formally submitted its extradition request, stressing that the two individuals were wanted on multiple charges in Pakistan and that legal action against them was urgent.

He stated that Pakistan had provided the UK authorities with what he described as “concrete evidence” of their alleged involvement in spreading propaganda from abroad.
