PESHAWAR: Three members of the Federal Constabulary were martyred and two Terrorists killed in a suicide assault on the FC headquarters located in Peshawar’s Saddar vicinity early Monday. Five others, including two FC officials, were injured in the incident.
Peshawar CCPO Mian Saeed stated that the attack was carried out by three suicide bombers. At around 8:10am, one attacker detonated his explosive vest at the facility’s entrance, resulting in the deaths of three security personnel posted at the gate.
The CCPO said that following the initial blast, the other two militants attempted to storm the compound. However, FC personnel inside responded swiftly, eliminating both assailants before they could inflict further damage.
Soon after the attack, authorities sealed Saddar Road and halted all traffic in the area to secure the scene and begin investigative procedures.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, confirmed that all explosions were part of a coordinated suicide operation, with one bomber targeting the gate area specifically.
