PESHAWAR: Security forces have killed 15 militants linked to Indian-backed networks in two separate intelligence-driven operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operations, conducted on November 15 and 16, were part of the ongoing nationwide counterterrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved under the National Action Plan.
Acting on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan, security personnel launched an operation that resulted in the elimination of ten militants, including their ringleader Alam Mehsud.
In a separate raid in Datta Khel, North Waziristan, security forces engaged another group of militants and killed five more individuals involved in terrorist activities.
ISPR added that follow-up clearance operations are still underway to ensure no remaining Indian-sponsored militants are present in the region. The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue to pursue foreign-backed terrorism with full force until it is eradicated.
