AMMAN: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir met King Abdullah II of Jordan during his official visit to the Kingdom, reaffirming the enduring friendship and military cooperation between the two nations. Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present at the meeting.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), discussions centered on enhancing bilateral collaboration in defence, security, and regional stability, as well as strengthening institutional linkages between the armed forces of both countries.
Field Marshal Munir conveyed greetings from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to King Abdullah II, who also serves as the Supreme Commander of the Jordanian Armed Forces. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its brotherly ties with Jordan — a partnership built on shared faith, trust, and mutual respect.
King Abdullah II lauded the professionalism of Pakistan’s military and its consistent role in promoting regional peace and stability. He expressed Jordan’s keen interest in expanding cooperation in defence training, strategic coordination, and counterterrorism efforts.
Earlier, Field Marshal Munir met Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, at the JAF Headquarters in Amman.
Upon arrival, the COAS was given a Guard of Honor and received by senior military officials.
During their meeting, both sides acknowledged the long-standing defence partnership between Pakistan and Jordan and discussed ways to further strengthen military-to-military cooperation. Major General Al-Huneiti commended Pakistan’s contributions to global peacekeeping and regional security initiatives.
The visit reaffirmed the shared resolve of both nations to enhance strategic collaboration, particularly in defence production, training, and intelligence sharing, contributing to broader peace and stability across the Middle East.
