Pakistan Denounces Israeli Move to Extend Control Over Occupied West Bank

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has voiced strong condemnation of Israel’s latest move to impose its so-called “sovereignty” over parts of the occupied West Bank, including illegal settlements, through a newly proposed bill in the Israeli legislature.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Foreign Office spokesperson described the step as a blatant breach of international law and a clear violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions. The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance that such actions trample upon the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

“These unlawful and provocative measures seriously undermine regional peace efforts and stability,” the spokesperson warned, urging the international community to intervene.

Pakistan also called on world powers to take “urgent and decisive measures” to stop Israel’s illegal activities and to hold its occupying authorities accountable for ongoing violations of international norms.

Reiterating its longstanding solidarity with the people of Palestine, Islamabad reaffirmed its commitment to work closely with regional and global partners to defend Palestinian rights — particularly their right to self-determination and justice.

The Foreign Office further reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
