HARIPUR: Preliminary, unofficial tallies from the NA-18 by-election indicate that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) contender Babar Nawaz Khan is currently leading the race.
According to figures shared from Haripur, results from 470 of the 602 polling stations have so far been compiled by the returning officer.
Babar Nawaz Khan has amassed 131,670 votes, positioning him comfortably ahead of independent candidate Shehrnaz Omar Ayub, who has received 93,915 votes.
A total of nine contenders were in the running for the NA-18 seat in this by-election.
