SRINAGAR: The journalistic community in Jammu and Kashmir was left heartbroken on Monday following the sudden demise of senior journalist Tariq Ahmad Bhat, who served as the Bureau Chief of The Week magazine in the region. He reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.

Widely respected for his sharp reporting and integrity, Bhat spent decades covering Kashmir’s political and social landscape. Over the years, he built a reputation for fairness, depth, and professionalism — qualities that earned him admiration from colleagues and readers alike.
