RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has ordered authorities to block the passport and Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) of Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, after she repeatedly failed to appear in court for hearings related to the November 26 protest case.
According to court sources, the directive was issued by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah following Aleema Khan’s continued absence despite multiple summons. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) later confirmed that both her passport and CNIC had been blocked in compliance with the court’s order.
The judge had earlier expressed displeasure over her persistent non-appearance and instructed law enforcement agencies to ensure her arrest and presentation before the court at the next hearing.
The case, which stems from the protests held on November 26, will resume on October 30, with five prosecution witnesses summoned to record their statements.
Reports indicate that Aleema Khan has already faced six arrest warrants in the same case, but authorities have yetto bring her before the court.
