WANA (South Waziristan): Security forces have successfully neutralized all terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, who attacked Cadet College Wana. The swift and coordinated response by Pakistan’s armed forces ensured the safety of all students and staff.

According to security officials, four terrorists and a suicide bomber were killed during the operation. No casualties were reported among students or faculty, and the campus premises are now undergoing a detailed landmine clearance sweep.

The rescue mission, which entered its final phase on Tuesday, resulted in the safe evacuation of all cadets and staff members. Authorities said the operation was carried out with utmost caution due to the presence of foreign terrorists, reportedly of Afghan origin, inside the college.

Officials emphasized that the security sweep will continue until the entire area is declared fully secure. “The operation is being executed carefully to ensure the complete safety of the students and faculty,” a security source added.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar praised the military’s successful operation and confirmed that thorough investigations are underway into both the Wana and Islamabad terror incidents.

“Pakistan will share credible evidence of these attacks with friendly nations and international forums,” Tarar stated while addressing the media. He noted that the Wana incident could have turned into a tragedy of the scale of the APS attack, but timely action by the forces prevented major loss of life.

“The armed forces acted with remarkable precision, rescuing over 550 cadets safely — a tremendous achievement,” he said.

The minister further reiterated Pakistan’s stance that Afghan soil must not be used for attacks against Pakistan. He also stressed that facilitation of militants from across the border must end immediately.

Tarar added that investigations into recent terror incidents will continue, and once conclusive evidence is gathered, Pakistan will expose the perpetrators at global forums.
