Gilani Visits UN-Supported Art Exhibition at PNCA

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani visited an art exhibition held at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), an event arranged with the support of the United Nations.

During his tour of the galleries, Gilani spent considerable time viewing the diverse collection of artworks, showing particular interest in the creativity displayed by participating artists, according to a press release.

Commending the organizers, partner institutions, and contributors, he said the exhibition stood out as a powerful example of artistic expression, cultural engagement, and social awareness. He emphasized that fine arts contribute significantly to building tolerance, harmony, and a constructive mindset in society, while also reflecting Pakistan’s vibrant and culturally rich identity.

Gilani noted that the exhibition served as an important platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent, ideas, and innovative work. He praised the young artists for their creativity, adding that Pakistan’s artistic potential is comparable to any nation in the world.

The Senate Chairman also acknowledged the United Nations’ continued efforts in supporting arts and culture in Pakistan. Such initiatives, he said, play a valuable role in strengthening social cohesion, stimulating intellectual development, and fostering national unity. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to host high-caliber cultural events and exhibitions.

He concluded by extending special appreciation to the organizers and reaffirmed that the Senate would keep backing constructive initiatives that promote art, culture, and creative expression.
