Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, has filed a contempt of court petition after authorities allegedly refused to allow her a scheduled meeting with her brother in Adiala Jail.
The petition has named several officials as responsible parties, including the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, the Federal Interior Secretary, and the Secretary of the Punjab Home Department.
In her submission before the Islamabad High Court, Aleema Khan argued that despite a clear judicial directive issued on March 24, she was obstructed from meeting her brother, and the court orders went unimplemented. She has therefore requested the IHC to take action against those who failed to abide by its decision.
Separately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, who had attempted to meet the IHC Chief Justice along with Aleema Khan and a team of lawyers, said they were informed the Chief Justice could not grant them an audience. Afridi remarked that their legal appeal was not heard and expressed frustration at what he described as continued institutional stonewalling.
The KP chief minister further announced that legislative proceedings in the National Assembly and Senate should not go forward under such circumstances, and revealed plans to assemble next Tuesday outside both the Islamabad High Court and Adiala Jail.
Speaking about his leadership in KP, Afridi stressed that he did not attain his position through political shortcuts, referencing the careers of Zardari and Sharif, and claimed he worked up the ranks from within the party’s grassroots network.
The KP Advocate General informally confirmed that the IHC Chief Justice had declined the requested meeting.
Earlier in Rawalpindi, Afridi concluded his sit-in protest, saying that every constitutional and legal channel had been exhausted. He questioned what further options remained for him to meet his party’s founding leader.
Afridi also alleged that court rulings were repeatedly ignored and that not only he, but even Imran Khan’s sisters, Rewere denied visitation. He claimed that in previous attempts, they were physically mistreated and humiliated along Adiala Road, and accused authorities of attempting to psychologically pressure Imran Khan by targeting his wife, Bushra Bibi.

Afridi said he had waited throughout the day and night but was still refused access to the PTI leader. The sit-in he launched last night followed yet another denial of permission to meet Imran Khan.
