ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a fresh increase in the prices of petroleum products, with petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) both becoming costlier for the fortnight starting November 1, 2025.

According to a Finance Ministry notification issued late Thursday night, the new prices took effect from midnight, following the government’s routine review of fuel rates based on international market trends and domestic economic conditions.

Under the latest revision, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs2.43 per litre, moving from Rs263.02 to Rs265.45 per litre. Similarly, high-speed diesel now costs Rs278.44 per litre after a Rs4.04 per litre hike from its previous rate of Rs275.42.

The government also adjusted prices of other petroleum products. The rate of kerosene oil rose by Rs3.34 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs185.05 per litre, while light diesel oil saw a smaller increase of Re1.22, now priced at Rs163.98 per litre.

Officials said the revision is part of the fortnightly price adjustment mechanism, which aligns local fuel prices with fluctuations in global oil markets and the exchange rate.

Pakistan reviews petroleum prices every two weeks to reflect international crude oil movements and the impact of taxes, levies, and import costs. The latest hike follows several months of volatility in global energy prices, which have influenced local fuel adjustments. ]
